Prix des Arts – Winner Portraits
We were commissioned to create individual video portraits of the winners of the Swiss Performing Arts Awards. Their artistic work is at the heart of the films, but our approach went further: we also wanted to make the people behind the art visible and offer a glimpse behind the scenes of their creative practice.
To capture this perspective on film, we worked with the slit-scan technique, a method that opened up new forms of visual expression. It allowed us to convey the artists’ experimentation and exploratory processes in an unusual way, creating an intimate connection between the work and the person behind it.
We also experimented with image-to-video AI to digitally bring objects supplied by the artists to life. This technology creates new layers of interpretation and adds an engaging visual dimension to their artistic forms of expression.
